Who they are ?
Great Cycle Challenge started in 2013, and after just 6 years, the event has grown to become one of the biggest cycling events in Australia.
People of all ages, abilities and from every state across the country set themselves a personal riding goal and challenge themselves to pedal throughout October to fight kids’ cancer.
In 6 years, our community of 55,774 riders from all 6 states and 2 territories have ridden a total of 13,341,418km, and together we’ve raised $16,300,890 in support of research to develop better treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Why? Because cancer is the largest killer of children from disease in Australia. Over 600 Australian children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 children die every week.
The ride aim to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve, and we believe that any one individual can make their personal impact to fight cancer and save little lives.
Great Cycle Challenge is a national Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI) fundraising initiative held throughout the month of October.

What did we do ?
Since 2015, David J. from Dataiku is participating to the Great Cycle Challenge Australia, held over October month. As every year, David support the CMRI and shared with us he personally wanted to support the Children’s Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
« Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week. So I am riding and raising funds to support them.«
Thanks to Dataiker’s generosity, the goal of AUD 1 000 was overreached within the month. The global amount has been matched thanks to our Ikig.ai initiative and we reached the great amount of AUD 3,241.17 !!!
Money raised helps to fund the research’s program of the foundation.
We are super exited and really proud of our rider and this initiative and we can’t wait for next year annual Great Cycle Challenge 🙂
David J. is doing this challenge for the 4th time.
He ride more than 500kms over this month and sometime with his grandson on his back 🙂
Thanks for matching!!! That’s is absolutely amazing…What great news to finish a month of ride.
